Brain Health Month

The GW Institute for Brain Health and Dementia is excited to launch an inaugural brain health month in partnership with DC Health and supported by the Alzheimer's Association. Together we aim to improve knowledge about brain health in our community to support persons living with memory loss. We will focus on four key themes:

Highlighted Events 

  • Kickoff Symposium: research showcase, keynote speakers, and networking event at the George Washington University open to community members on May 31st, 1:00 - 5:00 PM, at the Lehman Auditorium, Science and Engineering Hall, The George Washington University 
  • Monday Meditations: hosted virtually by community leaders on Mondays from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
  • Young Scholar Connections: hosted by academic mentors on Tuesdays from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
  • Wednesday Webinars: hosted by brain health experts on Wednesdays from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
  • Cooking Demonstrations: lean techniques to improve your brain health at local teaching kitchens 
  • Brain Health Education and Screenings: held at DC farmers markets and on Wednesdays and Saturdays and places of worship on Saturdays and Sundays throughout June
