What is the GW Institute for Brain Health and Dementia?
The GW Institute for Brain Health and Dementia was chartered in December 2019 to bring together faculty from across GW with an interest in adult cognitive health. The Institute aims to promote and support research that will meaningfully impact lives, through promotion of brain health, prevention of cognitive loss, addressing disparities in cognitive health, and improvements in the quality of life of persons living with dementia and their caregivers. Through its activities, the Institute provides a forum for faculty to discuss and collaborate with each other and external partners on clinical and public health research related to brain health and dementia. The Institute also provides an opportunity for interested GW students, fellows, and trainees with an interest in cognition and dementia research to attend seminars and work with faculty on projects that will help to advance their career goals. Finally, we aim to partner with our local community for research and efforts to promote brain health.
